Chiefs’ Star Finally Reacts to Shocking Tyreek Hill Farewell.

Chiefs' Star Finally Reacts to Shocking Tyreek Hill Farewell.

The Kansas City Chiefs won’t look the same next season. On Wednesday, they drastically altered one of the NFL’s most potent offenses by sending Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for a package of five draft picks.

Commemorating an “end of an era,” Hill issued a statement thanking his family, teammates, and the Kansas City organization. He mentioned tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes by name along with wide receivers Demarcus Robinson and Gehrig Richard Dieter.

“I’m proud to have taken the field with each of you,” Hill wrote. “You are what made each day worth it. We are brothers for life!”

Kelce co-signed that sentiment.

The star tight end also retweeted a post from Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett calling the Mahomes-Hill duo “one of the best ever.”

Meanwhile, Hill and Kelce formed one of the NFL’s most prolific pass-catching tandems since Kansas City drafted the former in 2016. With Hill’s downfield prowess keeping defenses honest, Kelce has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in each of their six seasons together. Hill scored 62 touchdowns in 91 career games.

Unless Kansas City locates a big-time replacement, Kelce could see even more targets as Mahomes’ undisputed top option. That will also lead to more attention from opposing defenses, making life harder for the 32-year-old.

Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce will go down as one of the game’s most dominant trios, so it’ll be interesting to see if Kansas City’s offense can stay among the NFL’s elite in 2022.
