Mahomes Reveals Emotions Behind 13 Seconds Heroics

Kansas City Chiefs came from behind to secure a well deserved win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night. They have yet another hurdle to pass as they face Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes and his teammates have been named the underdogs at Arrowhead, a first with Mahomes as the starting QB. The Chiefs were favored in all 41 of his previous home outings, easily the longest streak to start a career for any QB who debuted since 1985.

Patrick Mahomes was nicknamed ‘The Grim Reaper’ after his 13 seconds moment of pure brilliance secured victory for the Chiefs, when they defeated the Bills 42-36 in January 2022.

Mahomees has relived that magical moment once again and described what the win felt like. When he was asked what the first thing that comes to his mind after the game, he said; “It was battling through adversity, it was finding a way to win no matter what it took.”

Mahomes was also asked the mentality behind Chiefs’ success despite falling behind early in game, he said; “You try to have urgency from the beginning of the game…you have to put points in the board, you have to press the issue and our team reacts well to that.”
