Simone Biles is an unbeatable star in the world of gymnastics. Her exceptional flexibility and strength paved the way for her to make and break multiple records.

 

 

1. MOST GOLD MEDALS AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

 

Between 2013 and 2019, Biles bagged 19 gold medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, making her the athlete with the most gold medals won at the prestigious sporting event.

2. MOST MEDALS WON AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

With her 25 medals from the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Biles not only became the first female gymnast to achieve that feat, but she also broke the record for all genders.

 

 

Vitaly Scherbo formerly holds the record with 23 world championship medals. Biles, who is preparing for the Tokyo Olympics later this year, set the new record after winning five golds at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany.

 

 

3. MOST MEDALS WON BY FEMALE GYMNAST

 

 

Biles is so far the only female to win 25 medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She won these medals from 2013 to 2019. She set the new world record after winning five golds at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Additionally, Biles became only the third woman to win five gold medals at a single world championship. The two other female athletes who achieved the feat before her were Latynina in 1958 and Vlasta Dĕkanová in 1938.

With her victories during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Biles broke the record set by retired Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina. The younger gymnast won four gold medals during the sporting event.

With 19 gold medals from her performances at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, Biles now has a combined total of 23 golds, edging out Latynina, who has a combined total of 18. That’s another achievement for the most decorated gymnast in US Championships history.

5. MOST INDIVIDUAL ALL-AROUND TITLES (FEMALE)

Biles is the first female gymnast to receive five all-around gold medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She achieved the record for her victories in the periods 2013-2015 and 2018-2019.

The two other female athletes who achieved the feat before her were [Larisa] Latynina in 1958 and Vlasta Dĕkanová in 1938.

On October 10, 2019, the star athlete won her fifth all-around world title, which was also her 22nd championship medal, in Stuttgart, Germany. With a 2.1 point margin of victory, she matched her record in the 2016 Olympic all-around event.

6. FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE DISMOUNT ON BEAM

Biles won the double-double dismount beam competition at the US National Gymnastics in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 9, 2019. She competed in the double twists and somersaults category.

Aside from winning her sixth US all-around title, she went down in history as the first female to land a triple-double during her floor routine. This extraordinary feat further cemented her place in gymnastics.
